This guidance note is designed to support you in preparing for a desktop audits for your Pathway 1 project to be undertaken by the Taith Programme Executive. Please provide the information and documents listed below to the best of your ability. Please note that additional information may be requested during the on-site audit.

The audit will be undertaken remotely by the Taith Grants & Finance team.

The desktop audit is a high level assurance check.

Please note that not all of the checks may apply to the desktop audits depending on the scope of the project. You will be notified in advance of your audit and the areas that will be reviewed.

Sample size

Desktop audits will normally work on a sample basis as it will usually not be feasible to validate all expenditure or activity within the time available to complete the audit. As a general rule, the sample selected will be equal to at least 10% of the project value for large projects (or 10% of the funding incurred to date if the project is still ongoing) and 30 – 40% for smaller projects. The sample size for all projects can be increased dependent on the audit findings.
