A case study basically tells the story of a Taith-funded mobility, sharing experiences and highlights from the trip.
Case studies will be used on the Taith website and promoted on social media, and may also be shared by the Welsh Government, our Sector Organising Bodies, and other appropriate organisations of interest.
The purpose of a case study is for a wide audience (including those who may have no knowledge of Taith or mobilities in general), to get a real-life insight into the opportunities available through Taith funding, and to show the impact that both inward and outward mobilities can have on a wide range of individuals, groups and the wider community.
One of the most powerful and effective ways to get this message across, is to focus on the personal stories of individuals who have had a truly life-changing experience. It could be an individual from a difficult background who has struggled with problems in the past, or somebody from a disadvantaged area who has never had the opportunity to travel abroad before. We want to hear about how their Taith-funded experience has been an unforgettable – even life-changing one – and impacted an individual’s life positively.
As the organisation responsible for arranging your Taith-funded activity, you will be familiar with, and have knowledge of, any individual taking part who might be appropriate for this sort of ‘personal story’ case study. We would therefore hugely appreciate you sharing this information and the questions below with any person who has taken part in a Taith-funded mobility who might have an interesting story to share.
Please note that these questions are for guidance only so please encourage individuals to share any information that they would like to. It is likely that the information provided will be subject to editing to fit in with our house style guide and wordcount restrictions, but please be assured that no final version will be published until full approval has been agreed.
Excerpts from the case study may sometimes be taken and used as a standalone piece of promotional material for certain platforms (ie. a quote from somebody as part of a case study saying “I never thought this could happen for somebody like me, but travelling abroad for the first time and experiencing a new culture has been inspiring and given me aims and ambitions I could never have imagined before” might be pulled out and used for social media or a flyer) but the wording/ context would remain as agreed when final approval was given as part of the overall case study.
