Before beginning your application, it’s important to review the key guidance and resources to ensure you’re fully prepared. The information below will help you determine if Pathway 1 is the right fit for your organisation and project, understand what’s required at each stage, and know where to go if you need support.
Read the Pathway 1 Guide thoroughly, and make sure that Pathway 1 is the right fit for your organisation and planned project. Don’t forget that there are different guides for different sectors, so ensure that you are reading the guide that is relevant for your sector
Read the eligibility guidance for organisations and make a note of the information you need to have ready to complete the eligibility form
Make sure you check you are applying to the correct sector. The different eligibility rules for each sector can be found in section 1.2 of the sector Pathway 1 Guide
Read through the Pathway 1 application support documents – this has all the qualitative questions you will need to answer as part of the application

There are two forms and a grant calculator to complete in the application process.

Complete the ‘Before you start’ steps above
Click here to access the grant calculators for your sector. Save and complete it to calculate your project cost before you start the application form questions.
Open and save the application form and the eligibility form. Saving generates emails with unique codes and links so you can return to each form later.
You can work on the application form, eligibility form and grant calculator at the same time, but:
Attach the completed file to your application form.
Add your reference number to the application form.

If you’ve already begun your Pathway 1 application, please return to it using the unique link emailed to you. The email link will come from noreply@formresponse.com in the name of Cardiff University.
