Creating an inclusive and equitable environment

At Taith, we’re committed to promoting an inclusive environment, which led us to participating in the Diverse Cymru Cultural Competence Certification Scheme and receiving the silver award.

This award-winning workplace development tool helps organisations implement good workplace practice, ensuring services are fair and equitable for Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic people.

As part of our commitment to cultural awareness and implementing good working practices we have:

1.

Ensured everyone in the Taith team has attended at least one cultural competence awareness session, and continued learning is provided to all team members.

2.

Provided training to Taith Assessors to ensure that the applications are marked fairly, in line with the Taith strategy.

3.

Introduced mandatory requirements for grant recipients to hit at least 25% of participants to be from underrepresented groups.

The Certification Scheme supports workplaces to ‘start a journey’ to explore commonly held unconscious bias and to develop their cultural competence, and we look forward to continuing our journey and our commitment to cultural awareness.  We recognise that anti-racism is an ongoing journey, and we’re dedicated to continuing this work to create a more inclusive and equitable environment.

At Taith, we’re committed to promoting an inclusive environment and our EDI journey has not only been enlightening but also impactful. Talking part in Diverse Cymru's Cultural Competency Scheme encouraged us to reflect on our progress in relation to EDI practices and opened conversations about further steps we can take. We recognise that anti-racism is an ongoing journey and we’re dedicated to continuing this work to create a more inclusive and equitable environment.
