Back in October 2025, Taith hosted a celebration event at the Senedd to mark three years of the programme and the incredible impact it has had on people, organisations, schools, and communities across Wales.
We were honoured to welcome one hundred and seventy attendees, hear from fifteen inspiring speakers, and showcase the work of around forty contributors in our marketplace. A surprise performance by Avant Cymru dancers added a wonderful highlight to the day. We were truly overwhelmed by the turnout, the engagement, and the many messages of thanks and appreciation received afterwards. A clear reflection of how meaningful the event was for so many within the Taith community.
We are especially grateful to Heledd Fychan MS for sponsoring the event, and to both her and Mark Drakeford MS for taking the time to speak.
Their reflections on the value and far‑reaching benefits of international exchange resonated deeply with everyone present. It was inspiring to hear their perspectives on how programmes like Taith broaden horizons, strengthen communities, and enrich Wales’s connections with the wider world.
We were also delighted to welcome representatives from Cardiff Youth Service, who joined us to capture the event on film. In February 2025, Taith funded eleven young people aged 13 to 17 from Cardiff Youth Service, many of whom came from underrepresented groups, to travel to the United States, where they collaborated with Carlsbad High School Student Television, one of the highest rated high school media programmes in the country. During their visit, they learned about filmmaking, developed new skills, and gained hands on experience.
The representatives from Cardiff Youth Service filmed the Taith celebration event and produced a fantastic video that powerfully showcases the true impact of Taith.
