Pathway 2 funding supports educational innovation through Welsh-led international collaborative partnerships which address a specific issue or sector priority in Wales.
International exchange enables the sharing of knowledge, expertise and collaborative learning between Welsh and international organisations, to develop theory and practice in education within Wales and internationally. Pathway 2 funding is intended to support projects which would not be possible without the input and expertise from international partner organisations.
The sectors eligible for funding are:
- Schools
- Youth
- Adult Education
- Further Education and Vocational Education and Training
Staff and learners who participate in Pathway 2 projects can develop their understanding, knowledge and application of a key theme or topic and will develop an output from their learning to share with others in their sector and more widely. By disseminating an output, Pathway 2 projects generate wider long-term benefits to education within Wales and contribute to furthering the aims of the Taith programme as well as helping make a positive impact on policy developments in sectors across Wales and internationally.
Visiting an international partner, known as a mobility, is a key component of Pathway 2 projects, but the benefits of the mobility to the individual participants is not the focus of Pathway 2 projects. Instead, international mobilities are there to support the development and completion of the project output.
Taith is committed to making international exchange more inclusive and accessible. Our refreshed strategy focuses on supporting people previously underrepresented in international exchange to access opportunities. This includes people from disadvantaged backgrounds, ethnic minority backgrounds, Disabled people and people with additional learning needs.
