Taith Pathway 2 - Partnerships and Strategic Collaboration - 2025

Programme Guide Version 1.0, Sept 2025

1. An introduction to Pathway 2

Pathway 2 funds Welsh-led international collaborative partnerships to develop and share a project output that addresses an existing gap, issue or sector priority in Wales. Applications should clearly identify the gap, issue or sector priority the project will address and explain how the planned output will develop knowledge, understanding and practice across the sector. Applicants will need to explain how their learnings and output will be shared with others within Wales, so projects must include a ‘dissemination’ or sharing element. Pathway 2 funding is intended to develop and improve education in Wales, so applicants must clearly explain how their project will achieve this.

The following elements are all essential to a Taith Pathway 2 project and must be clearly explained in the application:

  1. Identification of a gap, issue or sector priority within one or more of the education sectors in Wales
  2. Collaboration with an international partner whose expertise will contribute significantly to the development of your project
  3. Creation of a project output that addresses the gap, issue or sector priority identified
  4. Sharing/dissemination of the project output to other organisations across Wales to ensure maximum impact and shared learning

Each Pathway 2 funding call has identified themes, ensuring that projects are aligned with Welsh priorities and policies in the education and youth sectors.  More details on the 2025 Pathway 2 themes can be found in section 3.3.

Pathway 2 supports projects that would not be possible without input and expertise from international partner organisations. You must clearly explain in the application form how the international partner(s) will contribute to the development of the project in ways that organisations in Wales or the UK could not.

All partners (Welsh and international) must be named in the application form.

Visiting an international partner, known as a mobility, is a key part of Pathway 2. Both staff and learners are eligible for international travel, as long as they make a key contribution to the development of the project and creation of the output. More details on eligible Pathway 2 activities and costs can be found in section 4.

Taith is looking to fund new projects and is unlikely to fund projects/outputs that are the same, or similar, to those already funded by Taith. Before applying you can check what projects we have previously funded for Pathway 2  on our planned projects page and our completed projects page.

If you have any questions about Pathway 2 or want to check if it’s the right funding pathway for your organisation and proposed project, please get in touch with the team at enquiries@taith.wales.
