Through a Taith-funded mobility project, young people from Gwynedd travelled to Croatia to explore how young people can play an active role in shaping decisions and creating positive change in their communities. As members of Llais Ni, a scheme that encourages young people to become active citizens and community leaders, participants met with youth organisations, local authorities and community groups to learn about innovative approaches to youth participation, governance and leadership.
Designed with inclusion at its heart, the project supported young people from a range of underrepresented backgrounds to develop confidence, communication and leadership skills while broadening their horizons through international learning. The experience challenged perceptions, raised aspirations and helped participants recognise their own potential as leaders and changemakers. On their return to Wales, they have shared their learning with peers, community groups and decision-makers, helping to build a more inclusive culture of youth participation across Gwynedd.
