Guidance note for Pathway 1 Onsite Audit

This guidance note is designed to support you in preparing for the on-site audit for your Pathway 1 project to be undertaken by the Taith Programme Executive.  Please provide the information and documents listed below to the best of your ability. Please note that additional information may be requested during the on-site audit.

The audit will be undertaken by the Taith Grants & Finance team who will come to your offices to meet with representatives of your organisation.

The onsite audit is a more detailed audit than the desktop audits which are undertaken remotely and are undertaken for grant recipients that have been identified as high or very high risk or where a compliance concern has arisen.

Checks

Please note that not all of the checks may apply on the on-site audit depending on the scope of the project. You will be notified in advance of your audit the areas that will be reviewed.

Sample size

Onsite audits will normally work on a sample basis as it will usually not be feasible to validate all expenditure or activity within the time available to complete the audit. As a general rule, the sample selected will be equal to at least 10% of the project value for large projects (or 10% of the funding incurred to date if the project is still ongoing) and 30 – 40% for smaller projects. The sample size for all projects can be increased dependent on the audit findings.
